During the savings and loan application process members may be asked to upload additional documents to prove their identity

If an applicant applies for a loan and the decision is refer or accept they will be asked to provide a bank statement. This includes an option to upload one from their computer or mobile phone.

New member applications (savings & loans)

If the applicant cannot be identified they will be asked to upload two identity documents.

A failed ID check is one which triggers REF11 or DEC13.  This means that there has been an ID score of under 35.

This includes applicants that score 30 (where they cannot be confirmed on the electoral roll for more than 12 months).

However this excludes decisions that trigger REF03.

This reason code is created when the applicant cannot be found on the TransUnion database. In these cases a manual assessment is recommended.

The two ID documents can be provided using .jpeg, .pdf or .png files. They can be uploaded directly from a mobile device:

Bank statement upload

If the decision engine returns a decline or refer, applicants are requested to provide a bank statement. There are three choices for getting a bank account statement to the Credit Union:

When an applicant chooses to upload a bank statement this must be provided as a .pdf file.

Display and retention

Once identity documents have been uploaded they appear in the ID tab in the dashboard.

Bank statements appear in the banking tab.

To comply with data protection requirements, all documents are removed after 90 days. Therefore if you require the documentation for longer than this, you must export and retain it in line with your data retention policies.
