This chart shows income over the period of the connection. In a stacked bar chart it shows the different components of income. The average over the connection is compared to the most recent month.

Click on the 'sub tab' in 'spending' to choose between income and spend.

Loans Officers are able to view changes to income over time and note any recent positive or negative changes.

Clicking a bar or table row for a category, will filter the list of bank transactions below to show just those for the corresponding category.

Note: In most cases the period of the connection will be 12 months. However, this may be less if the account has been recently opened or the bank provides a connection for a shorter period of time.

Trend summary table

A table is provided below the charts showing the change in income.

An average for the period of the connection is provided and compared to the most recent month.

  • Neutral categories (e.g. benefits): Are shown in AMBER if they have increased and red if they have fallen

  • Negative categories (e.g. bounced payments): are shown as RED if they have increased and GREEN if they have fallen

  • Positive categories (e.g. salary): Are shown as GREEN if they have increased and AMBER if they have fallen

Analysing the data

You can hover your mouse over any section in any bar to reveal the amount received of that income type in any particular month.

Multiple benefit payments

Income from benefits can be complex. In this chart several different types of benefit are being received, but note the social fund loan:

Unclassified income

You may see a chart with dark blue which shows 'unclassified income'. This represents one or more types of credit received to the bank which haven't been classified.

In many cases this will be salary. Because NestEgg may be unaware of an employer's name the transaction may not have been classified as salary or wages. Please send us a message over support and we'll classify this for future reference.

Note: All unclassified income is shown. In the example below there were two unclassified income sources from salary.

Filtering

Income can be filtered according to whether the source is positive (salary / wages), neutral (benefits / tax credits) or negative (bounced payments):

This is the chart in full:

This version of the chart shows bounced payments only (see below):

You can also click a category to remove it from the chart. In this case uncategorised income has been removed:

Bounced payments

Bounced payments are a credit. Because of this they are shown as income. We are however keeping this under review:
