Introduction

Each initial decision is a recommendation only. A loans officer must confirm the final outcome.

Both the recommendation and the confirmed status affect how decisions appear when filtered.

Initial Accepts

For initial Accept recommendations, the available options are Confirm, Decline, or Withdraw.

  • Select Confirm to accept the decision and the loan application.

  • This action also enables the Export to PDF option.

You may also choose to decline the application or mark it as withdrawn. Once confirmed or declined, an application can later be changed using the Action button. For example, if you confirm and accept but later realise the application should be declined, you can update it through Action.

Important: Withdraw decisions are final and cannot be undone.

Initial Declines

For initial Decline recommendations, the options are Accept, Decline, or Withdraw. These determine the final outcome.

  • To overturn the decline and approve the application, select Accept.

  • To confirm the decline, select Decline.

  • If neither option applies, you can mark the application as Withdrawn.

Even if a decline is confirmed, the decision can later be changed to an accept using the Action button. However, Withdraw remains final and unchangeable.

Initial Refers

For Refer recommendations, you can choose to Accept, Decline, or Withdraw the application.

  • Accepting enables the Export to PDF option.

  • Applications that have been accepted or declined can later be changed using the Action button.

  • Withdraw remains final.

Withdrawn Applications

If an applicant does not respond to communications, or if they contact you to say they no longer wish to proceed, the application may be marked as Withdrawn.

Applications can be withdrawn at any stage. However, once an application is withdrawn, its status cannot be changed to accept or decline.

For data retention purposes, withdrawn applications remain visible in the dashboard for 90 days, after which all Personal Identifiable Information (PII) is removed.

Analytics

Recording decision outcomes accurately ensures that the insights available on the Analytics page are as valuable and reliable as possible.
